Natural History Week Conference: Oh Sacred Earth Now Wounded

Join us for a week long all inclusive conference about climate change on beautiful Star Island!

Now more than ever we must face the most daunting of issues: holding on to humanity and the climate crisis. We must resist denial and apathy and set our minds on a future. We need to honor all living beings and work to heal the earth. Leading our conference are environmental activists, Tim DeChristopher, co-founder of Peaceful Uprising, and singer/songwriter, Bryan Cahall. Tim and Bryan emphasize the spiritual approach to the climate movement. Their unique concept of words and music is a transformational experience. It creates harmony and unity that lends to healing us and protecting the planet. Among other events this week: a performance of renowned Bread and Puppet Theater, using bigger than life characters representing the need for us to learn about social injustice, climate change and to come together.

In addition to our engaging program leaders will be hosting two exciting groups on island during the conference. Using the ancient and mysterious art of puppetry and masks to confront social and climate justice, the world renowned Bread and Puppet Theater will be performing their “Overtakelessness Circus” on island during this week. “The circus is a hectic, hilarious and beautiful monument to the shipwreck of our current situation” Peter Schumann, Bread and Puppet Founder.

The Sacred Harp Singers will also be joining us on Star and encourage all who wish to participate in a “feast” of singing. This traditional art form unites as only singing together can.
